William Cambre is a 35-year veteran of federal and local law enforcement. Throughout his distinguished career, he dedicated himself to investigating and supervising major criminal investigations involving local, national, and international crime organizations.
Mr. Cambre began his law enforcement career in Louisiana, where he served for 15 years with a local police department. As a detective, he investigated a broad range of criminal cases and frequently testified in motion hearings before judges, juries, and grand juries.
In 2000, Mr. Cambre joined the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), where he conducted high-level narcotics investigations across multiple U.S. cities and in an international posting. He targeted major drug trafficking organizations responsible for manufacturing and distributing controlled substances, personally enforcing U.S. drug laws and bringing offenders to justice.
In 2009, Mr. Cambre was promoted to DEA Supervisory Special Agent, where he led major narcotics investigations, including complex Dark Web fentanyl and opioid cases. He was later promoted to Resident Agent in Charge of a regional office, overseeing all operations. He subsequently served as a liaison to a high-level Department of Defense Task Force—a role that led to the seizure of 867 metric tons of cocaine valued at $17.3 billion and the arrest of 2,647 suspects. Mr. Cambre retired in 2020 as Supervisor of the DEA Maritime Task Force Group.
Since his retirement, Mr. Cambre has provided extensive consulting services and played a key role in the development of Law Enforcement On The Stand, offering real-world experience in presenting more effective courtroom testimony.
Mr. Cambre holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science. He has completed advanced training in narcotics investigations and leadership through the U.S. Department of Justice and the Department of Defense. His commendations include the DEA Administrator’s Award for Achievement and the Department of Defense Joint Civilian Service Commendation Award.
